Submission Guidelines
We here at Freakpower try to take a fairly hands off approach to editing and art . The whole goal of the zeen is to allow creators to feel fairly unrestricted in what they can create. Therefore the guidelines down below are quite sparse and mostly legal. However, there are things we are unwilling to publish or engage with due to the ethical, philosophical, political, or legal ramifications of a work. The ultimate deciding factor will always be the work and it's context. If we believe you are creating in bad faith we will not publish you, end of story.
No threats of any kind will be published.
No promoting of harassment will be published
No publishing of peoples personal information without their consent.
How to Send Us Your Stuff
Submissions can be sent to freakpowermag@gmail.com
Text works can be sent in pdf, word doc, or google doc. Images can be sent to us in almost any digital form although jpeg is preferred.
Submission deadline for the second issue is AUGUST 5th
Submission Guidelines

Short Stories are limited to 3,000 words.

Poems are limited to two pages (non double spaced)

Reviews are limited to 1,000 words (Although something more long form is completely acceptable but would just be published with critical essays or editorials depending on the content of the work.)

Editorials/ opinion pieces are limited to 2,000 words

Critical essays are limited to 2,000 words

News articles are limited to 1,000 words

For photos and art we are going to try to keep it to 1 to 2 published pieces per artist depending on the volume of submissions, however if you want to send in a large selection of works for consideration that is allowed. The understanding being that if you send us 15 photos or works of art we will tell you the 1 or 2 we would like to publish.
